I am lying, am I not?

Good grief - these damned kids and their deal with "changing" and "growing". I just posted about Arun not singing at all - what, last week? Just last night as I was singing to him, he decided to join in. And he did a damned good job of it - considering he has never, ever attempted to sing with me before. I am wondering if the preschool had something to do with it because I do not normally sing Twinkle Twinkle with the hand motions that often, yet he knew what to do. And remember how I said Anjali hated the crib? I plopped her in there this morning so protect her from Arun while I took a quickie shower to rinse off yesterday's funk. By the time I got out, she was snoozing away. Damn. I wish I had known because it would have been nice to shave my leg while in the shower. I am reaching Cricket Status over here, folks. It ain't pretty.

Okay. A meme, which as you know I LOVE. Thanks, Average Jane! Of course, I had to do this one because Jane has been my book buddy and fellow book club member for so long. This is a great list of reads, too! Sadly, I have not read many of them. Speaking "well-read", I generally do not like that term. I read all sorts of books and would rather be called "well-rounded". There is something to be said for Sue Grafton, dammit.

I might have to do this one. I just saw it on Average Jane's blog, too.

One thing I hope you will be spared is "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes." That ditty was a staple of some library group I went to when I was a little kid. And darned if I don't get stuck hearing it whenever I happen to be at our library on Tuesday nights when they have some kind of reading hour thing for kids.

That damn song gets stuck in my head every time. So inane!

I will never read Gravity's Rainbow...I know it's the best novel ever but sometimes I'm just happier sinking into a seat with my sci-fi/fantasy (incidentally, they gave the latest lit nobel to a sci-fi author). I do like a lot of classic literature so that's relaxing for me as well.

Most of the books on this list I've read because my father loves british/european literature (that's how he taught himself english) so I read them as a kid during those long interminable summers. Also, I was lucky to go to a high school that let us choose between a variety of english classes...and again, I took 2 years of european literature (I think one year was entirely brit lit, actually).

I'm very underead in terms of modern classics etc., though I have been trying harder recently.

Reading = happiness. What's the point of shitting on someone's Harry Potter or graphic novel/comics etc. love HAROLD BLOOM.
