On the FoodieBytes blog, I am discussing Thanksgiving dinner - eating in or eating out. In the post Flippin' the Bird, I weigh the pros and cons of fixing a dinner at home or eating in restaurant. Speaking of FoodieBytes, someone searched for "animal style" in San Francisco. The website came up with In-N-Out burger. Hee!
Anyway over here, I am talking lips. ...............
Stuff That is Good Because I Like It
I do not like chapstick, lipstick or much of anything else that leaves a mark when my lips touch a glass or cheek. For awhile, Lancome made an excellent long-wearing lipstick that did not leave that mark. Apparently, I was the only one who liked it, because they discontinued it. I wish I could wear lipstick as I really need it to contrast my pasty, pale skintone. However, I cannot compromise on the lipwear in the dry, winter months. My favorite, favorite lipwear is Aveda's Lip Savers. Sadly, it is ridiculously expensive at 8 bucks a pop. I have to supplement with Neutrogena's lip thingie. While effective, it is not nearly as fun as Aveda's.

I'm addicted to Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm and definitely can't live without it during the winter months. Some people don't like the tingle of the peppermint oil it contains but I love it!
I also like the Burt's Bees because growing up my grandmother would give my mom a jar of bees wax from her hive for us to use as lip balm. It was unflavoured and sort of grainy and I remember being suitably mortified because I felt like my family was being fobby as usual.
I typed all sorts of obscure stuff into foodiebytes recently and was amazed that it pulled up info (I was Miss Soon Tofu btw). Just penned a letter to my sis and bro asking them to play around with it.
You know about the Chicken poop one, right? Let google take you there.
mmm Burt's Bees and Chicken Poop! They are fantastic.
I tried the Neutrogena lip thingie but I didn't like it too much. I didn't seem to work for me. However, I love the Blistex Daily Lip conditioner. Makes my lips soft and doesn't crack at all. :)
$8 is a lot but depending on how fast it goes it could be tempting . . .
If it's as much fun as you're saying I'll have to put it on the want list.
I, too, am a Burt's Bees fan. I ran across a tube of it in my desk drawer yesterday and my lips have been less dry ever since.
I like the Aveda stuff you mentioned. It also comes as a lip tint, which I like for a simple shine with color. Many days that is the extent of my make up!
