It returns my wedding ring.
Apparently, a mother (one of the nursery employees) found my ring in her son's (wet, not dirty!) diaper.
I feel like a total goon for lacking faith and even worse, for insinuating someone took off with it.
I have learned so many lessons from this.
And not just the obvious "I will never wear my ring to the gym again" lesson.

Jumping out of blog stalker status to share a similar story!
I stupidly wore an expensive watch to the gym and took it off on the treadmill. Sweaty, yuck. Left it in the cupholder, forgotten, and walked away. I didn't even realize it was gone until the next day. Thought I set it down at home and one of my two-year-olds walked off with it.
Someone at the gym actually turned the damn thing in. I'm still amazed. It was expensive enough that they locked it in a safe and I had to tell them the inscription on the back before they returned it to me.
My faith in humanity was also restored at the gym... :)
When I was about 6 months old my mom found a diamond earring in my diaper. She knew who it belonged to and returned it, not telling her where they found it!
That mother must have been VERY surprised to learn her son was a jewelry smuggler.
At least it was a wet diaper, and not the other kind, or you'd have to wonder whether he actually swallowed it. (Plus, the grossness factor.)
The location of the missing ring is quite amusing.
Glad you got it back.
Awesome! I amend my statement to "Sometimes people don't suck when we mostly expect them to". :)
Hooooraaayyy!
Consider it blessed twice. :)
you are lucky it did come back to you!!!! I am sooo glad considering how special the process of making the ring and getting the stone meant to you :)!!
My mother-in-law has a wedding ring with a freaking enormous diamond and one day, while bagging up her old clothes and stuff for charity, it disappeared off her finger. They looked everywhere, retraced her steps etc etc etc. No ring. One day they get a call... The charity that she donated the lothes to had found her ring in the bag and got her ph. number off the charitable tax deduction form she'd filled out!
Did I not foretell this? Yay and also LOL, regarding where it was found!!!!!
